IFS Clinical Consultation

Become an Even Better Healer

Please Note: I am currently taking a sabbatical from my practice. I am not sure when I will return.

Want to Internalize the IFS Map to Become an Even Better IFS Therapist or Practitioner?

Case consultation is an excellent opportunity to build your skills in using IFS with clients. The more internalized the IFS map becomes for you, the better able you will be at using IFS flexibly and fluently, even with complex presentations.

I am an approved IFS Consultant, which means that consultation hours with me count toward IFS Certification (post Level 1).

During our consultation time, it is up to you what we spend our time on. The kinds of topics that are possible include:

  1. Case discussion:  talking through cases and and discussing strategies and approaches

  2. Real plays: you taking on the characteristics of your client and me doing the therapy with the roleplayed client

  3. Working with your parts:  exploring your parts that get triggered in your client work

  4. Topic specific skills and knowledge: discussing general issues/topics such as working with polarities, shame, complex trauma, legacy burdens, unattached burdens, etc.

As you know, professional parts are personal parts, and professional growth is personal growth, but it can be helpful to be reminded that this is a consultative and not a psychotherapeutic relationship.

I understand that consultation itself may bring up performing or self-doubting parts. Working with those parts is often a part of the consultation process, and can be very helpful.

Individual Consultation:

One to one attention on your client issues, and your own parts. If you are working toward certification, I will need to see at least one video of your work. Once a month is a recommended frequency.

Fee:

CND $ 145/50 minutes

CND $ 200/80 minutes

Please note: I am currently taking a sabbatical from my practice. I am not sure when I will return.

Group Consultation

There’s a synergy that happens in group consultations:

  1. Learning from each other's concerns:  Frequently, others have the same issues with clients as you do, and you can learn from their exploration of those topics and questions.

  2. Mutual support: As you discover that you are not alone with your concerns, it helps build your confidence and increase access to your Self-energy.

  3. Space to process: As others ask questions related to your matter, you have space to refine your concerns, articulate your thoughts, and explore your parts’ reactions. You can also choose to work with your therapist parts in this safe space.

  4. Experience a Self-led space: As trust builds in the group, participants become increasingly Self-led. The space becomes more and more revitalizing. Typically, each group will start with a short meditation to help  in creating this.

Fee:

CND $ 75/ 1hour 50 minute session,  3 session commitment. 4-6 participants/group.
